“In August 2018, the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) visited Odessa for the first time as part of a training program called Universités d’été.
This program aims to educate students on issues related to Zionism, Jewish identity and Jewish history.
This 4-day training trip in Odessa, as part of a larger program passing through Budapest and Thessaloniki, would not have been possible without Moty Likwornik.
Moty Likwornik encouraged us to visit this city, explaining the less well-known history of the origins of Zionism in Odessa and explaining the extreme importance of visiting, despite our initial concerns.
Once there, we discovered every place linked to the history of Zionism and the creation of Israel as a state, from the rallying point of the Lovers of Zion, to Jabotinsky’s house through the visit of the city, which inspired Dizengoff in the construction of Tel Aviv.
We also discovered an Odessa anchored in its Soviet history, in the horrors of the Holocaust but also in Jewish life which was gradually reborn.
But our visit did not end there, as Moty Likwornik also introduced us to the life of this extraordinary city, from its fabulous Opera House to its large squares and markets.
This visit left an impression on the UEJF and all the students present and allowed us to approach Zionism from a new perspective.
Without Moty Likwornik, the discovery of this city and its history would not have been possible. ”
“I strongly recommend this wonderful trip to everyone and especially to lovers of history which, with Moty, is brilliantly told” Thank you for these wonderful memories”
Noémie Madar, Présidente de l’Union des Etudiants Juifs de France
“Extraordinary ODESSA, with its stories told only by you, the best guide there is for ISRAEL and for ODESSA
I think and we all think that you could be a guide in all countries, thanks to your extraordinary culture and your ability to adapt to all my clients from France – this is very much appreciated, and of course we will continue to develop ODESSA’’

’If Odessa were told to me!
When I decided to travel to Odessa, it was not a city that particularly attracted me but I really wanted to go on a trip with friends, and I signed up at the last moment.
I cannot deny that I was surprised from the very first moment.
Moty from the first second immersed us in the atmosphere of the city with an incomparable talent.
The history of the city, the life of the Jewish community so rich in events, the past of our pioneers Dizengof, Ehad Aham, Jabotinsky, Bialik, etc., the history of Rozlan, everything fascinated us because Moty our guide knew how to lovingly transmit all the secrets of this city to us.
I will say no more, the rest I will let you discover. Unbeknownst to me, this trip has left in me, “the little girl from Algeria”, memories and experiences which will undoubtedly accompany me for a long time to come.
Thanks Moty ’’
‘’ Odessa, city of art, music and history, romantic, strange, bewitching, spiritual, multicultural, joyful, this pearl of the Black Sea, cannot be simply appreciated… it is “to be discovered”.
Moty knows it, “he knows” how to show it to us.
The hidden courtyards which carry their often illustrious and illustrated secrets… the palaces which are being renovated little by little, reveal treasures. Its famous and immense Potemkin staircase also has its history.
Odessa is alive, a place to dance, with nights that are lively, in summer we also laze on its beaches, we eat so well and we can stay there very comfortably on a very reasonable budget!
In short, the whole of Odessa is a must …
History, “stories”, tales and legends, the secrets of Odessa we “lived” with Moty. Come!
